Cub Scout Science Day Camp
Cub Scout Science Day Camp is so popular we have added another week in 2018! Science camp supplements and uses the STEM program. Cub Scouts will work on science related activities during the week, earn a rank specific Adventure Elective which corresponds to each area of focus and earn the STEM-Nova patch. A local science related field trips are taken to see and practice Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Science with hands-on activities like you never experienced within the four walls of a typical classroom. The entire camp is an outdoor learning experience and the only thing missing is YOU! Interested in more than one area of focus?? You may attend both weeks and select a diffferent STEM focus area for each week.Because of the popularity of this program, early registration is recommended. Each week is limited to 48 scouts and each area of focus is limited to 12 participants. Camp runs Mon- Fri, 8:30am to 4:00pm. The fee for Science Day Camp is $355.
When registering for Science Camp you will be asked to select one of 4 areas of focus in the Cub Scout STEM program - Science Everywhere, Tech Talk, Swing! or 1,2,3 Go! Each area of focus has room for 12 scouts. For more information on the Cub Scout STEM Nova Awards, please visit the national BSA website at: www.scouting.org/stem/Awards/CubScout.aspx. Scouts entering the Tiger program (first grade) in September may participate in Science Camp, but will not earn a STEM Nova Award as the BSA does not have one for Scouts at that level.
Don't forget to add Twilight Camp to your week of science fun at Baiting Hollow. Twilight Camp will run on Thursday evening from 4:30 (when Day Camp ends) until 9:00 pm. You can easily add Twilight Camp to your week when you register. The fee for Twilight Camp is $25.
