Youth Eligibility Requirements
Scouts BSA
- Be a currently registered member of a Scouts BSA Troop.
- Be at least age 12 by the first day of the Jamboree but have not reached age 18 by the last day of the Jamboree.
- Be approved by the unit leader and local council.
- Meet all BSA medical screening and BMI requirements.
Young Adult Eligibility Requirements
- Be a currently registered youth participant.
- Over the age of 18 but have not yet turned 21 by the last day of the Jamboree.
- Be approved by the unit leader and local council.
- Meet all BSA medical screening and BMI requirements.
Adult Eligibility Requirements
Adult Jamboree participants are selected by the Council Jamboree Committee after a review process and interview. Application does not guarantee selection as a Jamboree adult leader. An expectation of Jamboree leadership is that they will help actively recruit youth participants to fill contingent spaces.
Scouts BSA Leaders
- Be a currently registered adult leader of a Scouts BSA Troop. Jamboree Scoutmaster candidates must be currently serving as a Scoutmaster.
- Have completed all required training for your registered position
- Complete Youth Protection Training within one year of the first day of the Jamboree.
- Be approved by the local council.
- Meet all BSA medical screening and BMI requirements.
Register as a Council Contingent Staff Member
Calling all adults planning to attend the National Jamboree with a Council Contingent that would like to help put on the event by being a member of Staff. These adults (21 years +) will play a dual role — supporting Jamboree operations during the day while remaining embedded with their contingent in the evenings. This is a great opportunity for adults who want to contribute to the success of the Jamboree while staying connected to their local youth.
Key Details:
- Role & Responsibilities: Assist with Jamboree operations for at least 6 of the 7 program days. They’ll work with a team lead to determine their schedule and may be required to complete training prior to the event.
- Travel & Lodging: These staff members will travel, eat, and camp with their council contingent.
- Registration: Register as part of the council contingent under the designation “Council Contingent Staff Member.”
Refund & Recognition:
- Refund: Upon successful completion of service, each Council Contingent Staff member will receive a $400 refund, issued to the council for distribution.
- Recognition Kit Includes: Two participant patches, Participant neckerchief, Custom 2026 National Jamboree red daypack and a special staff gift!
