McMorris Lodge

Honoring the Memory of Andrew McMorris

On June 12, 2021, we held the Ribbon Cutting for the beautiful McMorris Lodge at Baiting Hollow Scout Camp, which was bult to honor the memory and legacy of Andrew McMorris of Troop 161. Twelve year old Scout Andrew McMorris was struck by a car and killed by a drunk driver while on a hike with his Scout Troop.

Troop 161, the McMorris Family, Suffolk County Council and Community rallied and raise the funds to build this beautiful 3,200 square foot lodge. A walkathon was held in November of 2020, originally scheduled for March of 2020, which raised over $130 thousand dollars that combined with thousands of volunteer hours built a lodge full of love and passion. The McMorris family placed some of Andrew’s most prized possession in the foundation of McMorris Lodge.
