The purpose of the Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST) course is to teach Scouts with leadership positions about their new roles and the organizational and leadership skills needed to most effectively reach success in that role. Completion of ILST is a prerequisite for Scouts to participate in the more advanced leadership courses National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) and the National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience (NAYLE). It is also required to participate in a Kodiak Challenge Trek. Shinnecock Lodge is offering this training for all Scouts BSA youth, SM's an ASM's. The goal is to help units with making their Scouts better leaders. This program will teach youth the leadership skill to start becoming better leaders. It is also to help SM & ASM learn to run the program at the unit level. The cost of this event it $10 which includes a BBQ lunch (hambugers, hot dogs and chips)
