BSA Paddle Craft Safety Training

The purpose of Paddle Craft training is to sufficiently prepare anyone to safely supervise a particular boating activity. Training will ensure skill in and safe operation of  the craft for the specific activity. Participants will become knowledgeable in accident  prevention and be prepared for emergency situations. The course is available to adults and youth 15 years and over.

Courses will cover skills for flat water canoeing (and/or kayaking) to allow you to judge your readiness for supervising a basic canoe (or kayak) activity.

Kayak - Paddle Craft

Friday, July 26th - 7pm to 9pm    &    Saturday, July 27th - 9am to 1pm 

  • Fri - Lecture (Registration, Requirements, Trip Planning & Equipment) in theTraining Lodge
  • Sat - Skills at the Water Front

** Limit 12 students per class. You must attend both lecture & skills sessions to receive certification.

Canoe - Paddle Craft

Friday, August 2nd - 7pm to 9pm    &    Saturday, August 3rd - 9am to 1pm 

  • Fri - Lecture (Registration, Requirements, Trip Planning & Equipment) in theTraining Lodge
  • Sat - Skills at the Water Front

** Limit 12 students per class. You must attend both lecture & skills sessions to receive certification.

If someone wants to pursue both certifications:  They would need to come to only one lecture on 7/26 or 8/2, BUT they would need to attend BOTH skills session on  7/27 & 8/3. Please register for both courses.
