Sagtikos Summer Merit Badge Program General Information

The 2026 Sagtikos Summer Merit Badge program will have two 2 weeks Sessions. It will run as follows:

Session 1: Thursdays, July 9th & July 16th

Session 2: Thursdays, July 23rd & July 30th

All classes are being held at Our Lady of Lourdes, 455 Hunter Ave, West Islip, NY 11795. The entrance in the back by the main parking lot is the entrance to be used.

** All Scouts must be signed in and out by a parent or other adult. Scouts CANNOT be dropped off or picked up without a parent/guardian doing this.

* Scouts are required to bring a signed blue card for every class they are registered for. Please make sure one is obtained from your scout's Scoutmaster BEFORE attending class.

* Scouts must be in Class A uniform when attending Summer Merit Badge classes.

* Water will not be provided during the classes so please remind your scout to bring a water bottle with them.

* All Scouts MUST pre-register to attend; no walk-ins will be permitted.

* All Scouts should bring the Merit Badge Pamphlet (can be borrowed from the Troop library or purchased at the Scout Shop).

* All Scouts must bring the Merit Badge Workbook - link can also be found at https://www.boyscouttrail.com/boy-scouts/bsa-merit-badges.asp

* Please note any pre-requisites were listed on the Sagtikos Registration page at scccbsa.org. These prerequisites must be completed prior to the start of the Merit Badge class. If all prerequisites are not complete, your scout may get only a partial and will have to complete the merit badge at a later date.

Scouts must attend both classes in the same session

• Uniform is required.

• Pre-registration is required. “No Walk-ins “

• Scouts must arrive with a Blue Card signed by your Scoutmaster

Scouts need to bring, pencils, paper and any materials required for the merit badge. A merit badge book will be very helpful. A parent / guardian must sign each scout out of every session day.

If a class does not appear on the registration form that means it's full

Please note space in some merit badge classes will be limited age and rank may be prioritized. Sign up early.
