Scouts BSA Winter Camp
There will be merit badge classes and open time activities. Scouts will sleep in heated cabins. All meals will be prepared and served in the Dining Hall. The Trading Post will be stocked with snacks, Scouting items and camp souvenirs. Winter Camp 2020 will have a Safety / Emergency Preparedness theme. Merit Badges being offered are all related to the theme.
The following badges will be offered at Winter Camp 2020:
- Fire Safety
- First Aid
- Public Health
- Scouting Heritage
- Search & Rescue
- Signs, Signals & Codes
- Traffic Safety
Merit badges offered with pre-requisites needed are:
- Crime Prevention (reqs #2 & #4B)
- Emergency Preparedness (reqs #1, #2C, #6C, #8B)
- Photography (req #1B)
- Safety (req #1)
Merit Badge books will NOT be available for purchase at camp. Be sure to purchase the needed books at the Scout Shop before coming to camp.
In addition to merit badge classes, we will have presentations and activities related to the theme. The Fire Department, Police Department, Sheriff's K-9 unit, Department of Health, PSE&G Long Island and the Search and Rescue group are all scheduled to visit us during the week. Topics include electrical safety, fire prevention, Public Health, and First Aid. The week will end with a camp-wide Search and rescue drill that will challenge all of our Scouts.
The price is $350 per Scout.
